Our History

A Long Harrison Tradition:  The Harrison Children’s Center was first established in January 1975.  The first Early Childhood Program was located in the Leo Mintzer Center in West Harrison.  In 1981 a second Early Childhood Program was opened in the All Saints Church located in downtown Harrison.  Both programs are in operation today and serve 85 pre-school age children.

In the fall of 1979 the need for After School Programs became evident.  The first program opened in the Preston Elementary School in 1984, followed by a program in Parsons Elementary School and finally in Harrison Ave. Elementary School.  All three programs are in operation today and serve our Harrison elementary school age children.

It is not without the support of The Town of Harrison and the Harrison Central School District that The Harrison Children’s Center is able to offer quality programs to pre-school and school age children.
